📊 The Outdoor Market Intelligence Service (OMIS) tracks sell-through across our panel of UK and DACH outdoor retailers, with data going back three years, to the start of 2023.
This month we focus on half year performance, the period covering January to June 2026 versus January to June 2025.
🔎 Key highlights for the half year:
📉 UK panel sell-through value declined by -3.91% though Average Selling Price rose +4.3%. Retailers have been managing & maintaining their average sales price and keeping margins up. Some retailers will be experiencing higher profitability in cash value even with reduced sales.
🇩🇪 DACH value down -4% and ASP falling -3.2%.
🧗 Verticality was the positive performer in both regions. The value of sales in the verticality department rose in both the UK (+10.3%) and DACH (+4.5%).
Apparel sales value was essentially flat (-0.2% in the UK, and -1.2% in DACH).
📉 Footwear and Camp are under the most pressure across both markets.
However, the higher-price end of the market (products +£200 / +€200) experienced solid growth. While in some categories, products selling at this price may not be truly premium, it is still instructive to look at the overall customer appetite for higher value items. Subscribers to the OMIS service interested in specific categories and sub-categories can use the dashboard filters to conduct additional pricing analysis.

Product Development news – The newest update to the dashboard (launching in July 2026 reporting June sales figures) will allow contributors and subscribers to view and filter by product attributes, giving a more granular and tailored set of options to analyse the monthly data.
