Fast facts from Sports Marketing Surveys sit alongside memories from the great and the good of the world of tennis in a new special edition magazine produced by Tennis Europe.
The 120-page magazine has been released to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Tennis Europe Junior Tour. Over the years, the series has given some of the biggest names in tennis their first taste of international competition. In fact, the roll of honour of event winners reads like a who’s who of world tennis; just look out for names like Rafael Nadal, Alex Zverev, Mats Wilander, Simona Halep, Kim Clijsters and Stefanos Tsitsipas on the list of former event champions.
The magazine is free to download and includes in-depth interviews with former Junior Tour stars Casper Ruud and Elina Svitolina. Martina Hingis recounts stories from the early days of the tour, while Andy and Judy Murray also feature, discussing the benefits of the programme for players, parents, and coaches.
The magazine comes in the wake of a number of congratulations from a number of leading tennis stars, who have attested to the importance of the programme. Men’s world number one Novak Djokovic was among the first to send congratulations on the landmark anniversary, saying, “I have wonderful memories of playing on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour. Hopefully the Tour will last for another 30, 60 or 90 years. It’s essential that we all take care of this organisation, and that we are all aware of how important this platform is for young players.”
Roger Federer and Karolina Pliskova, among others, have also sent messages, sharing their experiences on the Tour and giving advice to the next generation of talents.
Tennis Europe and SMS have been partners since 2004. As part of the partnership, SMS operates a range of research programmes across the sport, including projects like the Next Generation player study and Tennis Stakeholder Research.
