  About the camToo project

The camToo project is a road-river-rail project which will introduce a new bus route from the Science Park to the City Centre, a new train station north of the river, provide greater capacity for rowing on the Cam and, by the construction of a new mile of river, create a protected area of green belt land.

Which of the following elements of the project have you heard about before?
  Heard about   Not heard about
New bus routes from the Science Park to Cambridge City Centre / Grafton Centre
Extension of Cowley Road with bridge over the railway to Chesterton Fen
Building of a new train station - Cambridge Parkway at the end of the extended Cowley Road
Digging of a flood relief channel between the end of Riverside and Fen Ditton - effectively dualling the river for one mile
Stourbridge Common and Ditton Meadows being turned into an island
Additional walkways and cycle paths as a result of Cowley Road being opened and a greater distance of riverbank

Have you heard the camToo project mentioned by name before?

Please tick how important you think each of these consequences of the camToo project is for Cambridge's future development:
Very important   Important   Not very important   Not at all important   Don't know
  New and improved transport links
New network of cycle paths to keep cyclists off the main roads
New walking routes along new towpaths
A dedicated bus route from the Science Park to the City Centre / Grafton Centre
Ability to terminate London trains at a new Cambridge Parkway station North of the river instead of at Cambridge.
More mooring space on the River Cam
  Improved flood relief
Regeneration of a major ‘brownfield’ site (Chesterton sidings)
  Improved capacity for rowing

How likely would you be to use...
Very likely   Likely   Not very likely   Not at all likely   Don't know
  The new bus routes?
  The new Cambridge Parkway station?
  The new cycle paths?
The new stretch of river (for walking, rowing)?

The digging of the flood relief channel will turn Stourbridge Common and Ditton Meadows into an island and will prevent the area from being urbanised in the future.
